About
PauperPilot is a home for Pauper on Magic Online. It turns the public results of MTGO leagues and Challenges into a picture of the format: what is played, how much, and what it takes to play it. It is a personal project for players who want to pick a deck, keep up with the meta or buy cards with a purpose, and it is free to use, and always will be.
How to use it
Every page counts the decks of the date range chosen in the header: the last 7, 30 or 90 days, since the last banned and restricted update, or since the latest set. Your choice follows you around the site.
- Metagame
- The archetypes by meta share, the ones moving up and down, and how the most played have changed week by week. Each archetype has its typical list, its core and flex cards and its recent decks.
- Staples
- The most played cards of the format, in the main deck and the sideboard, with the archetypes that play them. Filter them by color and type.
- Lands
- Every Pauper-legal land, the mana it makes, its family and who plays it.
- Sets
- Pick a Magic set and see which of its cards are played, with their rarity in that set and a wishlist to paste into Cardmarket.
- Your collection
- Sign in, import your cards from Moxfield or a text list, and see in Decks to build which decks you can build, what each one is missing and what to buy first.
Data sources
This project would not be possible without the community’s work:
- MTGODecklistCache (opens another site), by Badaro.
The original collection of MTGO tournament decklists (archived).
- MTGODecklistCache (opens another site), by Jiliac.
Maintained fork of the above; one of the two sources of MTGO decklists.
- MTG_decklistcache (opens another site), by fbettega.
Independent decklist cache; the other source of MTGO decklists.
- MTGOFormatData (opens another site), by Badaro.
Archetype classification rules.
- MTGOArchetypeParser (opens another site), by Badaro.
Archetype classification engine (MIT); the ingest uses a TypeScript port.
- Scryfall (opens another site), by Scryfall LLC.
Card data and images.
- Tagger (opens another site), by Scryfall and its community.
Card tags that group the lands into families (bounce lands, gain lands…).
Third-party data keeps its original licenses and terms of use. See each source’s repository or website for the details.
The tournament and deck data on this site combine both decklist sources. As part of it comes from MTG_decklistcache, it is published under the GPL-3.0 (opens another site) license.
Symbols and art
The mana symbols come from Mana (opens another site), by Andrew Gioia. The card art is the work of the artists credited next to each piece, © Wizards of the Coast, and is served from Scryfall. The mana symbols are also © Wizards of the Coast.
Prices
Card prices come from Scryfall’s daily data (opens another site): the cheapest paper printing of each card, in euros, refreshed with the site every day. They are an estimate, may be out of date and are not guaranteed; check the store before you buy.
